Behind The Bit is just as amazing as the previous two books! So, if you are looking for a good read, I'm BEGGING you to read at least one of the Canterwood Crest books.

I just found out today that Jess gets to write 12 books in the series instead of the original 8 she was signed to do!! How great is that?!?!? Congrats, Jess. I'm not surprised that she's came this far. She is a great, talented, amazing author who I'm a proud fan of.

Anyways, back to Behind the Bit. (say that five times fast) This book is a continuation of Chasing Blue. It contains more secrets than you could ever imagine, and friendshiips are put to the ultimate test! It'll have you reading 24/7!!

Well, not entirley, but pretty close.

I finished this book in two days (while riding on a coach bus with 52 people, I might add) and it's just perfect! Each word is written properly, each sentence is unbeleivebly good, each paragraph is written to perfection, and the whole book just sparkles!

I know, I'm a dork. But what can I say? This book is prefect as I am dorky.

Chasing Blue

Get ready Canterwood Crest fans because Chasing Blue is full of rivalry, secrets, and backstabbing! If you've read the first book (Take The Reins) by author Jessica Burkhart, I'm sure you're DYING to read the sequel. I know I was.

Now that I have read it (again, in record time) I was so anxious to get the third book becuase it ended in a weird spot, then continued in the first chapter of book three titled Behind The Bit. But I'll get into that later.
****SPOILER****
In my opinion, I think it was kind of shocking that Heather was going out with Ben, which was part of the reason why I wanted to read Behind The Bit so I could find out why. I read Behind The Bit, and it was sounded a lot like Heather. That gets them into a big, big, fight in book three.
Wow. Why do I keep mentioning book three of Canterwood Crest?
Anyways, I HIGHLY reccomend this book. GO OUT AND BUY IT!!!
Why are you still reading this? Why aren't you on your way to the bookstore?!?!

Take The Reins

Take the Reins is the first book in the Canterwood Crest story. There is an interesting story on how it got published. But first, let me tell you how the book got started.
Jessica Burkhart rode horses when she was a little girl...until eighth grade when she had aspinal fusion for severe scoliosis. During her recovering, she read a lot of magazines and learned that she could send in stories to the magazines. She learned to write queries and sent tons and tons and tons and tons of terrible ones to magazines. Each querie wasn't put into the magazines, but that didn't stop Jess! She wrote to patch up the hole that was left at her lack of riding.
After about 100 articles she wrote got accepted (that were about volunteering at the Humane Society, and NOT what she thought editors wanted) she joined National Novel Writing Month in November 2006 when she was a senior at Florida State University. The goal of National Novel Writing Month was the write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. On December 1st, 2006 the first draft of Take The Reins was finished!
Okay, so here's the cool part....
A year later, an agent was reading Jessica's blog and asked her if she could read her manuscript. After deciding, Jess sent her manuscript to NYC. After signing with the agent, and in ten days, she had a four book deal with from Simon & Schuster's Aladdin MIX!!!!!
How cool is that? Pretty cool, you gotta admit.
Jess is planning on having 8 books in the Canterwood Crest series. To read the first couple chapters of Take The Reins, visit LipSmacker Lounge. Also, Jessica has a Blogger account too. Here's the link to her blog....http://jessicaburkhart.blogspot.com/
